FOCUS Missionaries
The Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) is a Catholic collegiate outreach whose mission is to share the hope and joy of the Gospel with college and university students, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of Christ-centered evangelization, discipleship, and friendships in which they lead others to do the same. Four FOCUS Missionaries have been present as part of the Columbia Catholic Ministry team since 2011; altogether there are over 850 Missionaries serving 216 campuses across the country. Our FOCUS team is comprised (from left to right) of: Anne Bloomer (Harvard ’23), Dan Tully (Brown ’23), Liam Coulter (Vermont ’21) and Grace Klein (James Madison ’23).
Ford Hall
Ford Hall is a residence for Catholic graduate students at Columbia University aimed at fostering community & spiritual growth among Columbia Catholics. It is located at 614 W. 114th Street. It features individual rooms, common dinners prepared by residents, outreach to fellow Columbia Students, especially graduate students, a Food Pantry and Clothes Closet affiliated with Community Impact at Columbia University, and a chapel with the Blessed Sacrament where Mass is held a couple of times each month. It has Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Charitable Service
Columbia Campus Ministry has a vigorous program of organized Christian charity, reaching out to the poor and needy in the area around campus, across the boroughs of New York City and in service trips beyond. Many students are likewise helped to plug into the extensive outreach programs of the Catholic Church through various religious communities, Catholic charities and more.
